AirPods Pro 2 in Nigeria 2026: Real Price Comparison Across Stores
What AirPods Pro 2 actually costs in Lagos right now across Slot, 3C Hub, Konga, and Amazon cross-border. Plus how to spot the counterfeits that flood Lagos markets.
Nothing Apple makes gets counterfeited in Nigeria like the AirPods Pro 2. Walk past any Computer Village stall and someone will sell you "AirPods Pro 2" for ₦25k that look identical to the ₦190k genuine pair sitting in Slot. So most of this guide is about how not to buy the fake.
A genuine pair of AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C lands in Nigeria at roughly ₦185-220k across legitimate retailers. A listing well below that is counterfeit or grey-market, with Find My and firmware updates that never work properly.
Where to buy a genuine pair
- Slot sells AirPods distributed by Apple Nigeria with a full warranty, around ₦210-220k. The cleanest route.
- 3C Hub normally comes in ₦15-25k under Slot, around ₦190-200k for the same SKU, still genuine stock.
- Konga, verified-seller listings only. Filter for shops with high ratings and at least 100 sales behind them, and skip new sellers no matter how tempting the price.
- iStore Nigeria if you want zero doubt. Apple Premium Reseller status and a real warranty, priced at the top of the range.
How to spot a counterfeit pair
The fakes have gotten good. Eyeballing them no longer cuts it. These are the checks that hold up:
- Pair them with an iPhone and open the Settings page. A genuine pair shows up as "AirPods Pro" with separate battery percentages for the left bud, the right bud, and the case. Fakes struggle to connect cleanly, appear as a generic Bluetooth device, or show the wrong model name.
- Check the serial at checkcoverage.apple.com (or settings.apple.com/serial). A genuine serial returns a valid warranty result. A counterfeit one comes back "not found" or matches a completely different product.
- Test the noise cancellation somewhere loud. Fakes have no real ANC or a feeble imitation of it. Genuine ANC drops the ambient floor sharply the moment it engages.
- Look at the firmware version. Genuine AirPods pull and install Apple firmware over time. Fakes show no firmware version at all, or one implausibly old.
The cross-border math
Amazon US lists the AirPods Pro 2 at $199 sealed retail. Delivered to Lagos with shipping and customs, where audio products usually attract 10-15% duty, the total comes to around ₦155-175k. That undercuts even 3C Hub by ₦20-50k.
For AirPods specifically, cross-border is a strong move: you rarely need warranty service on a pair in the first 12 months anyway. Real savings, low risk.
Should you hold out for the AirPods Pro 3?
Apple refreshes the AirPods Pro on a roughly three-year cycle. The Pro 2 shipped in 2022, and a Pro 3 with an H3 chip is rumored for late 2026. Wait six months or more and expect the Pro 2 to shed another ₦20-30k once the Pro 3 lands.
Want them now. Buy them. The Pro 2 is still an excellent pair and will keep pulling Apple firmware updates for at least another four years. Nothing to gain by waiting if you need them today.
